Aram Khachaturian
The Khachaturian International Competition is a globally renowned celebration of classical music, established on June 6, 2003 to commemorate the great 20th-century composer Aram Khachaturian. The competition encompasses multiple disciplines including violin, piano, cello and conducting, and attracts outstanding musicians from around the world. In 2023 the competition was held in Beijing, China for the first time, serving as an important bridge for cultural exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative. The 22nd Khachaturian International Cello Competition will be staged in Beijing in 2025. The event not only advances musical and cultural exchange between China and other countries, but also provides a broad platform for young musicians to develop their careers.
