Lang Lang Makes His First Visit to Yerevan as China and Armenia Mark 20 Years of Diplomatic Relations

Pianist Lang Lang recently arrived in Yerevan for his first visit to Armenia, joining a wider season of musical exchange as China and Armenia mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Lang Lang traveled to Yerevan with his mother and said he was delighted to visit the city and looking forward to the upcoming performance.

During the concert, Lang Lang will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan, the orchestra's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor.

At the same time, the global preliminary rounds of the 2026 Khachaturian International Youth Competition are beginning across different regions. In the final stage, Sergey Smbatyan and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will accompany young musicians from around the world, creating an important path from youth training to the international stage.

From the appearance of leading artists to the rise of a new generation of young musicians, this cross-border musical dialogue continues to connect audiences, educators, and performers through the language of classical music.
