Prizewinners Announced at Beijing's 2025 Khachaturian International Cello Competition
Prizewinners have been announced for the 2025 Khachaturian International Cello Competition in Beijing, the cello edition of the Khachaturian International Competition.
The competition was held in December 2025 and was co-organized by Jingse International Cultural Education and the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation, with support from the China National Opera House and the Armenian Ministry of Culture.
First Prize was shared by Wang Wanglele and Li Shuyu, while Third Prize was awarded to Hao Haoran. Additional honors included Hao Haoran receiving the award for best performance of a Chinese work, and Cao Yijulan receiving the award for best performance of a work by Khachaturian.
In the final round, contestants performed with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan.
The results highlighted the competition's role as a professional international platform for young musicians and as an important bridge between the Armenian and Chinese classical music communities.
